Michael Blake, Deputy Chief Retired
Michael Blake, Deputy Chief Retired, NYPD Commanding Officer of the Counterterrorism Division, is a Partner at Merrick Financial Group. During his NYPD career which spanned 27 years, Michael was assigned to the following commands: NSU5; 43rd and 24th Precincts; Manhattan North Narcotics Division; Queens Narcotics Division; Brooklyn North Tactical Narcotics Team; Manhattan South Task Force; Queens Gang Squad; and he commanded the 102nd and 103rd Precincts. Michael has held every rank within the department, from Police Officer to Deputy Chief.
During his tenure with the department, Michael has mentored and motivated his fellow officers to realize their maximum potential. He now brings that passion along with 27 years of organizational management and leadership experience to Merrick Financial Group whose mission is to empower members of law enforcement through financial education.
Michael’s commitment to community and service has been recognized numerous times, including ‘Man of the Year’ awarded by the Jamaica Rotary Club, The Greater Woodhaven and Richmond Hill Block Association, and a humanitarian award from the United Cerebral Palsy Institute.
Michael holds both a B.S. in Organizational Management from St. Joseph’s College and a Post Graduate Certificate from the Police Management Institute at Columbia University.
