Sean J. Rooney is a retired NYPD Detective with 27 years of service to the people of New York City. Now serving as a Liaison to Active and Retired NYPD personnel at Merrick Financial Group, Sean helps members of service understand their pension benefits, plan for retirement, and achieve financial security for the future.
Beyond his professional work, Sean has proudly represented the NYPD Lacrosse Team for over 30 years and continues to share his love of the game as a coach at South Side High School, where he has been coaching for the past four years.
As a board member and Sergeant-at-Arms for Merrick Cares For Blue, Sean remains deeply committed to supporting law enforcement families and communities in need. His lifelong dedication to service, mentorship, and teamwork defines both his professional and personal mission.
